When music meets drama and poetry: this record is the result of the Ensemble Kadéléis’s commissioning of eight Belgian composers (by birth or adoption) in connection with the poetry of Verlaine. Some of these composers are of international reputation, such as Frédéric Rzewski and Paulo Chagas, others are to be discovered. An alternation of styles (sometimes resembling “world music”), and unusual ensembles (notably the presence of percussion) lend originality to this record.
